Well it is not illegal for Tobacco companies to profit off of selling a drug that kills, but is it morally right?
Our Government protects the right of a woman to have an abortion, does that mean it is morally right?
It is legal to get ripping drunk at home and fantasize about your neighbors wife, but is it morally right?
When the law is unclear what authority guides your choice? And if you disagree with a law, are your morals wrong?
Jesus Christ is the truth.

I live by my own laws and or moral codes to the extent possible. Obviously at times I have to obey laws created by others since those laws have stronger power behind them capable of enforcing those laws. Then there are times when I either agree with laws or see no good reason to break them. My ideology is my own though it is close to that described in the book "Might Is Right" by Ragnar Redbeard.
A man can obey every one of the Ten Commandments and every other man made law and still be a fool and a dependent all his life. No man ought to obey any contract, written or implied, except he himself has given his personal and formal adherence thereto, when in a state of mental maturity and unrestrained liberty. It is only slaves and or herd animals that are born into contracts.
Most folk in this nation profess belief in christ insanity. That applies to those in prisons and we have one of the highest crime rates in the world. In China, Japan, and South Korea (where atheism is more dominant) crime rates are much much lower than here even though christ insanity is a tiny minority religion in those places. Thus the idea that the herd animals need christ insanity or else crime will be out of control - is absurd. Yes christ insanity does keep the herd animals in line in many ways and obedient but so can many other non fairy-tale means achieve the same goal or even higher goals.

I think that should read "allotment of people", which just makes me think of Soylent Green and so EUUUEEEEW. But then I can say whatever I want as I don't believe in God so I have no morals....well then, knickers!
Edit: that's funny, of course I've jay-walked and sped on an open freeway - I've also driven over the painted lines on many a road. But I've not done any of these things without due consideration and having come to the conclusion there was no danger to me or anyone else. Funny that.
Did the law that you can't do any sort of electrical work on your house including changing a light-bulb come from the Bible too?

What do you think Atheist don't live by the same laws every one else does. God has no law. Christians just make up a lot of foolish rules to live by. No Atheists don't live by your foolish rules.

the laws of the cops? I've seen a lot of j-walkers....
besides, people in general only follow the laws when they're watched, or they think there is a severe penalty. so most atheists won't murder because they'll go to jail or get capital punishment. but as for j-walking, speeding on an open free way, disrespect (in some places you can get sued for a non-biased insult!). I'd like to see atheists [truthfully] say they've never broken one of these laws...

The laws here are generally to protect the common good. Just because many of those laws may coincide with Biblical laws does not mean such civil laws are Biblically-based, like some "Christian conservatives" would have you believe.

Allot is actually a real word. It means to apportion a share.
(sorry)
Yes police and courts keep people from killing each other. Not an all forgiving Christ.

what laws do the cops protect? where do we get those? from the Bible
"Thou shalt not murder"
"thou shalt not steal"
almost every single law is based of a Biblical principle
and how do you judge good and bad. there has to be some line that was drawn. it was drawn by God himself. debate that.
