reason#1:There are people out there that don't know much (if anything) about nuclear power.They say that having nuclear power plants could cause a nuclear explosion,but that's not even possible because in order for that to happen you have to have whats called a "chain reaction".There's no way a chain reaction could happen at a nuclear power plant.
reason#2: Scientist haven't mastered the process of producing nuclear energy.

Jessica, There is a huge demand for nuclear power in the US. The problem is that environmentalists have made this type of energy very difficult to build since there are fears of damage that can come from this source.
Many other countries are putting this to use, and once our country gets its energy policy figured out, we will have them too.

Many people are afraid of using nuclear power due to the risk of a meltdown. The risk of this is very low, however, due to fail-safes. Events like Chernobyl further scare people.

WHO says nuclear energy is safe?there is nothing safe about it.Man has finally unleashed a power source he cannot control.There's no safe place to dump the waste and yes power plants also make waste.
