My boyfriend wants his space?

Today my boyfriend of 9 months now told me he wants some space.. he said he loves me and he doesn't want to be without me. He just wants a variety of friends and to be with other people besides me.. I feel this way to, because he and I are together every single day!! eek! The only thing that worries me.. is, is this the beginning of a break up? :( He and I have only taken 1 break before and it was for a couple days.. I'm probably thinking waaaaaaaay to much into this.. but any advice is appreciated.

I did give him his space after he told me this.. I just want him to want me [again] I'm not sure what triggered this.. make sense? Grrrr.. Relationships are such a pain sometimes.. ha

I really appreciate everyones answers so far... but I wanted to add a few things...

He and I are still together.. he said its not a break.. just space.. we even have plans tomorrow.. I'm just wandering if this is the beginning of something.. :(

Let him have his space, dont let it get to you, maybe your taking it the wrong way. But honey, sometimes, women needs their space also.Tell him thats fine, because we tend to be up each others butts way too much.And you want to do your own thing with out telling him everything thats going on . Make it a date with your best friends, your sister, your mother, do things by yourself, dont let him think your missing him terribly, this will only show him, you cant do nothing without him.

Me & my boyfriend was like that i called him everyday since the space time then oneday it really seemed like he didnt want to talk 2 me or even be bothered... So i jus stop callin and tryin 2 get his attention... it only took me one day to not speak 2 him for him 2 realize that he really needs me! We was split for 1 week straight & now we are back together... that oneday was the first time in a year & bout 3 months that we didnt talk 2 each other!

My advice 2 u is dont lose contact but dont be all in his way if he really loves u like he say he do then im guessin that he'll give in!

it could be that he really does want space or like you have noticed it could be that it's the begining of some thing bad so don't sit around waiting for his call get your self out and have some fun don't do anything silly just yet but go out with your friends and have fun use this time to be a chick and do girls only stuff when he contacts u don't sound like you have been hanging on his calls just be calm and if it's all over then gab those friends you have been having fun with and some movies with chocky and ice cream

Sometimes boyfriends and girlfriends need time apart. Hang out with other people instead of each other EVERYDAY! Give him his space, and sooner or later he'll be like "Oh, baby I've missed you so much!" LMAO!!!

ya relationship are a *****...i think you should jus give him time...buh frm experience this is the best thing to do...i know its gonna be hard but jus try to show him your to busy for him but tell him you love him and what not..this will make him think about why your so busy an eventualy he will miss you so much that he will call you one day and jus wanna be with you and spend time with you...when guys feel neglected thas when they become all insecure and that will make him run back...well it worked for me soo goodluck

maybe he likes on and off sounds like u do 2. u know if u love some one let him go if he comes back hes your if not he never was but dont do it 2 often may not come back
