Because Cain killed Abel. Since Abel was dead and it doesn't say he was married at the time he died, he didn't have offspring to carry on his line. If I remember correctly, some people mentioned in the Bible are Cain's offspring. But the entire theme of the Bible has to do with God's Kingdom with the Messiah as king, (the first prophecy is in Genesis and refers to Christ)...so the geneology listed in the Bible has to do with being able to identify the Messiah when he came. So It was through Seth's line, not Cain or Abel's, that the Messiah was born.

Cain killed Abel, so Abel is out of the geneological loop.
And the Bible says "Cain went out from the presence of the Lord." in Genesis 4.
"The Godly line of Seth" is the familial heritage of the Jews.

Because
GE 4:25 Adam lay with his wife again, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth, saying, "God has granted me another child in place of Abel, since Cain killed him." 26 Seth also had a son, and he named him Enosh.
At that time men began to call on the name of the LORD.
Seth was born to replace Abel.

Well, for obvious reasons, Able did not have children. And none of Cains descendants are in Bible stories to warrant the whole listing of ancestry.
Maybe Seth was the name of another child of Adam and Eve.

Cain was a murderer
Abel had no descendants
Seth was the first to be right with God and have descended from the first people alive Adam and Eve and of course Seth had children
Genesis 4: 25 Adam had relations with his wife again; and she gave birth to a son, and named him Seth, for, she said, "God has appointed me another offspring in place of Abel, for Cain killed him."
26 To Seth, to him also a son was born; and he called his name Enosh Then men began to call upon the name of the LORD.

seth is the only direct relative of adam and eve that is in the line of jesus. not that the other names aren't important, but if we listed the family tree, we would list everyone in the world!

that is the lineage of Jesus. Cain and Abel's family tree down the generations did not bring forth Mary or Jesus.

Easy because Cain is not from Adam that's why he's not listed in Adams geneology. Cain's father is satan.
