Who are you to say they are wrong for killing any animal for meat just becasue it doesn't exist in your culture? Better eat the available animal than starve to death.
Do you eat beef? In many cultures cows are considered sacred animals so, you would be the one doing wrong, not the people eating dogs.
Before you lay judgement down on someone from another culture do some research.

Dog slaughter? Only thinking of their own lives? I bet you're not a vegetarian. I bet you've never been to one of the mass production farms everywhere where farm animals like chickens, cows, and pigs have little pens they spend their whole lives [perhaps 3 months] in. The thing is, we have to eat. If we all became vegetarians, then the animal population would grow unchecked and the planet would be overrun. You've got to have a sense of balance. It's not A. we end the slaughter or B. we're awful murderers that care only about ourselves. It's that being in the middle of the two is the best way to react to the way our planet has grown.

And please stop bashing on the South Koreans. Their taste in food might seem strange, but, in general, they maintain a level of integrity and respect for others. They do not go around calling others people "messed up freaks" just because of differing views.

I think you're being racist and ignorant at the same time. I should only be hearing these kinds of statements from a vegetarian(like me). What about those farm animals?
It has already been said that this country(US) kills the animals in the most brutal way(so the government wouldn't have to pay extra).
Although I care more about the dogs, I still think that the values of life in any animals are all equal/the same.
Go to youtube.com and type in "cow massacre", "pig massacre", and "chicken massacre".

PS: I wouldn't like to admit this but, unlike those videos I watched about cows, pigs, and chickens, I couldn't watch those dogs being killed even more. I had to exit when that dog got picked up.
Maybe it's because I have one as my pet.
I thought that was only in China.

One group cannot dictate what another can and cannot do, we eat some stuff they don't, they eat stuff we don't, it's simple.
I live in a country very close to them, and can tell you it's not just them, and it's not a right or wrong thing, it's a cultural thing. I don't condone it, but I understand it, cause I know where these people come from, where their development comes from.
What you call wrong they call right, what you call right they call wrong, who'se to be the judge?
You at their sacred animals like there's no tomorrow, remember that.

I am going to disagree with everyone who said "what is wrong to us is right to them" and vise versa.

Because if you say that, then you have to say that there is no such thing as right or wrong anywhere. You have to say there is no good and no evil, everything is just as it is depending on the culture

In some places it is alright to circumcise a woman and torture her and make her be her husband’s whipping toy. You say it is evil? Well who are we to go over and try to stop it? It is their culture…who cares if women are being tortured? Who cares if those dogs are being tortured over THERE by THOSE people?

Well I do and so do many others.
But I believe in good and evil and right and wrong. I don't care whose stupid culture it is. When something is wrong it is wrong no matter where you are.

So I am going to say YES torturing those dogs the way they do is wrong and somehow we need to stop it. The best way is to simply never visit those places. They thrive off tourists, so if you don't give them your money you will not help them.

its not like the koreans can stop eating dogs...like the japanese cant stop eating whales. sure of course the japanese goverment needs hundreds of whales for the good of science. all the whales end up on the japs plates anyway

i dont wanna sound racist but really, its just the koreans who eat dog meat. pretty much the whole world eats meat, except for the ones who think they are sacred but it doesnt mean they still dont eat meat.

I actually don't think there's much we can do about it. Even if they signed up for and ratified some treaty on animal rights, I don't think there's anyway that any international body can overpower them and make them stop eating dogs. I know it's cruel, and i hope it's just like fashion, something that comes and goes.

I hate what some people eat for food...........I am sure people from India don't like us for eating hamburg.....go veg!!

We invaded Iraq - but I am sure we are not going to go all out for animal torture and slaughter.

Some people believe that the fear in an animal before it dies "helps" your body somehow...it makes you better in some way. So - to get fear in an animal - you have to torture it before you kill it. That is why it is done.
