Hey hows it going, my names Brett, I'm in the later years of 15, and I have been kinda on and off weight lifting till just now. Mainly, I use light weights, and the maximum stress on my back is about 30 pounds more than average. So, I use 15 pound weights on all muscles related to the arms. I do 8 sets of 25 for biceps, 8 for triceps, and 8 for something else? Also, I am in many sports, currently on Tae-Kwon-Do. And im 5.10, still growing, 136 pounds, and cut not bulk. Also, for abs, i do what i think is way to much, but 1000 crunchs three times a week, doing slighty diffrent mucles on each. Can someone please just help me out so i can see if this is bad?

Brett, for explosive power for martial arts you need to keep the reps low and do full body power movements. Im 17 and lift a little, so I'm no old timer with vast amounts of knowledge ,but from what I've heard 15 may be a bit young. What you want to focus on are these bodyweight exercises. If you are strong with your body weight in every possible angle, and exercise you won't need to touch a weight. For neck try rolling neck bridges. For traps, hiseman shrugs. For shoulders handstand pushups between chairs. You can also do diamond handstand pushups on the floor. For lats and biceps, do pullups. Close grip, reverse grip, wide grip, hand over hand, one arm (if your super bad). By the way one hand means one hand, not one hand with your other on your wrist. For chest, triceps and shoulders do pushups. Regular, diamond, wide, dive-bomber,clapping, fingertip, knuckles (great for martial arts) and one-arm,and one-arm dive bombers. For abs do hanging leg raises, dragon flags, janda sit-ups, russian twists, and side bends. For lower back try tire flipping. Back extensions are good but you might need weight for the lower back,in the form of deadlifts. For legs try hindu squats, dragon walking, box jumps, hill sprints, one legged squats, jumprope and calf raises. For your posterior you also might need weights. Try hip pull throughs and one legged deadlifts. For hand strength try hanging on a pullup bar with one hand, spider ups, squeezing the water out of your wet blue jeans, wrist rollers, barbell finger rolls, and get some captains of crush grippers. I hope this helps. Remember to keep your sets low. So if you can get 100 push-ups start doing them on one arm.If your maxing out your pullups add weight. For conditioning hit the heavy bag.Do the 'square' where you get everybody in your gym to go a three minute round with you until you drop. They should all be fresh and you not so fresh.Circuit training is good too. For this keep the reps 15 or above and don't stop till you puke. For martial arts your runs should be short and fast. For something like navy SEALs however it's all about endurance,if thats your thing(it's mine).Once again for martial arts, all strength training should be kept at low reps. Look around and find what works for you. Just a little advice.
