What that other postee said about practicing possible scenarios that can be embarassing can perhaps allow you to be more prepared for when something happens to make you feel self-conscious. I wonder if counseling can also help you to deal with your sensitivity to various situations. I try to stay calm in different situations, and I do use deep breathing which is a relaxation technique. I (slowly) breath in thru my nose and then (slowly) out pursed lips a couple of times. Not too quickly though so that one doesn't hyperventilate. I then breathe normally after that. I sometimes have to repeat it though perhaps because I have anxiety problems.

Blushing can also be a sign of a skin condition called rosacea. I'm not saying that you have that per se, just that blushing is certainly a sign and symptom of that problem. If it persists, perhaps you can talk to a dermatologist about it.

i blush all the time and there is no make-up to help me stop :-P

but what i recommend is something that i have found pretty useful.
if you know what makes you blush (whenever you have to do public speaking, for example), you should practice doing it beforehand.
if you picture yourself doing it by yourself, it becomes way easier when it's time to actually do it. it's kind of like that whole "practice makes perfect" thing.

hope that helped :-)

Toughen up. Get used to compliments and insults. Eventually you won't blush any more...
