Most definitely go visit!
The Canadian Rockies are even more beautiful than the U.S. Rockies. If you can, drive up through Crows Nest Pass and on up to Banff. If you are flying, fly in to Calgary and rent a car from there.

Here is what you absolutely must see:
Lake Louise
Banff ... walk around the town
Morraine Lake
Columbia Ice Fields
Jasper National Park

There is a tram near Banff that will take you up to a lookout tower at the top of one of the mountains. You should take that lift and go up to the top to check it out. If you like the view of the rockies from the bottom, try looking down from the top. Awesome!

Also, there are the Banff Hot Springs where people actually go swimming in mid winter, and the natural sulphur caverns.

If you are driving, take the mountain pass with its tunnels between Alberta and British Columbia. If you can afford the time, take the train from Alberta to BC...not sure if it runs from Calgary to Vancouver any more, but the route was just fabulous.

And if you go further north on the BC coast, you can go up to Whistler. A majestic mountain for skiing, spas, and relaxing if you can afford the prices.

They are beautiful, all of the Rockies. Go see them, take your camera as there is plenty wild life. The parks you drive through have lots of wild life whom just walk in front of your car, some sit on road like they own them all. There is plenty, mountain sheep, elk, deer, moose and silver tipped grizzles. Waterfall right by side of roads (Many of them)So make sure you have camera for this kind of stuff. If driving please careful as they have some pretty high mountains and winding roads. At night you will be able to see the northern light, they dance up the skies with all colour. Lots of campsites, with trailer hook ups, indoor out door plumping, some are equipped with showers, washer & dryers. Lots of pull off interest points and oh yes Jasper has ski resort and Trams to go way up into the mountains, hiking trails. ( Do bring along heavy warm clothes for night time, can get rather chilly out). People are so friendly, will help you to places, just ask at park board when driving in to the park (Needed to get into the Rockies)
If go further right into Calgary (maybe 4 hours off) go to Drum Heller(The badlands, dinosaur Park, Calgary zoo)
You won't be sorry you went.
Good luck and happy traveling.

They are great!

I would make sure you do a trip through Banff/ Canmore. Do some day hikes in the Kananaskis Country, and take a dip in the hot springs in Banff.

If you are coming in winter you really should check out some of our ski hills. Sunshine, Lake Louise, Fernie, Nakiska... we have had a great year for snow, and there is so much fresh powder out there right now you won't believe your eyes.

I hope you have a great trip!

you merely defined my honeymoon. We stayed interior the submit motel (very costly, yet nicely worth a minimum of one evening in case you are able to swing it) there is likewise the Jasper section...Maligne Canyon crawl, Maligne Boat excursion, (besides the fact that there is a few of that for the time of Banff) Be arranged to stroll ALOT. maximum mind-blowing places are secluded and available by making use of strolling merely. The gondola became attractive too, yet take some thing to eat (we forgot to, and ought to no longer stay conscious there as long as we needed) refer to the community site visitors, that's what we did. (and we got here across some rather super places that way) yet another ingredient I forgot became the Angel Glacier walk. (very hard, yet nicely worth it) Have a super time....there is not greater effective place interior the international then what we've out our back door.
