This is the great Truth.
You will experience after death the same as you remember you did before life.

Nothing.

The soul does not exist. The duality of mankind is an illusion of the mind created by the consciousness. It is nothing more than that.

You are a sum of your experiences and your thoughts and feelings about those experiences and those are kept in the brain. When the brain is damaged those memories are lost and that can either lead to a change in personality (depending on the degree of lost memory) or if enough is lost one becomes brain dead. Technically who you are can no longer be there even if the body lives. Like Terry Shiavo.

That's why it's important to live your life to the fullest for one day it will end. There is nothing afterward.

Rot. Your body decomposes and its chemical compounds are returned to the soil to be used in the ongoing cycle of life. Some other creature in the future will have some of your chemistry in its flesh and bones. Isn't that cool? I think its pretty awesome!

Um, after death is a nice little place called a cemetary where you go underground in a coffin.
