Be very wary. 1st off, Ninjitsu is a dead art. 2nd 5th dan is a low rank to be director of an world organization.

What are you learning? Is the training any good or are you just buying belts? Who is your teacher? What are his credentials? That more than anything would be an indicator of a Mcdojo. Tuition is not bad for where I live but how does it compare to where you live? Same for the belt/testing fee. Edit: Checked it out and it looks pretty good. I really liked the fact that there was no rediculous claims on ranks, like 12th degree!. Very impressive. I highly doubt this is a Mcdojo. American Nippon? It's not too unusual. A lot of Japanese/Okinawan association have an American branch.

First you need to visit the dojo and talk and get to know the Sensei and students. Participate in a lesson. Most places offer a free trial lesson. Ask questions especially about payment and contacts. Does the dojo and sensei fit your learning style and character as well as what you want to get out of training? Most important don't judge a dojo by its web presence or by opinions of people that have never set foot in it. Here are some good articles on choosing a dojo.

And go here for an example of a good dojo with a poor web site. (I am the web master.)

Directors are typically 7th - 10th Dan or at least all the one's I’ve seen are. Also, ninjutsu is not a dead art but when one has to hide ninjutsu in wording like “bushido” it’s a clear sign their not being totally honest. Bushido is not ninjutsu it’s actually an ancient Japanese martial art. It’s the same martial art studied by the last samurai, the guy tom cruise played in the move last samurai. I would be cautious, it definitely looks to be a McDoJo.

I'd say "definitely." A good rule of thumb: any place that claims to teach Ninjitsu is a big red flag. Also, another warning sign is its parent organization, the World Budo Union Sosa Kai, which looks quite questionable to me. Closely investigate their website, the credentials offered are circular in their reasoning and entirely unverifiable.

Yes. Regardless of rank or style, the site speaks for itself. It's only a picture with less than minimal information. It looks like someone spent a total of five minutes making. i wouldn't join. Half-assed advertisement and half-*** instructor.

While Ninpo is still thriving, what this place teaches is not Ninpo/Ninjutsu at all.

It's pure McDojoism at it's worst.
