Purina just isnt a high quality food. Too many fillers and byproducts. Your dog will eat more of a low quality of food as less is actually absorbed and used for energy. So price wise, buying a more expensive high quality food actually works out to be about the same. Some good dog foods include
Natural Balance,
BilJack
Blue Buffalo
Canidae
Timber wolf
Make sure to check the ingredients of whatever food ur looking at purchasing. THere should be no fillers ie corn, wheat, soy in the first 3 ingredients.

As a precautionary measure Nestlé Purina PetCare Company is voluntarily withdrawing its 5.3 ounce Mighty Dog® brand pouch products that were produced by Menu Foods, Inc. from December 3, 2006 through March 14, 2007.
That was taken off the Site. The others are safe..

Purina is a very good brand of dog food and has been around for years. You can see all the different kinds of food that they offer. You can also call Purina and they will assist you with anything you may have questions for. Purina is a good brand - they have a lot of different varieties... the newest being the Beneful Brand dry dog food - it has been a Huge success for the company, and again is another good brand by purina.

Purina contains corn, which isn't easily digestible for dogs. Not to mention it has no significant nutrients to help you're dog whatsoever.
Much like the other commercialized crap "quality" dog food. I suggest using Royal Canin or even better Canidae.
Stay away from;
-Iams
-Eukanuba
-Science Diet
-Purina
...The list goes on and on.

i dont know bout that, i have two dogs, both eat purina. when i got my first dog, i did some research on the different foods, the main ingredient in purina is protine and fat, other dog foods, the main ingredients were wheat, corn, and other types of fiber, so we think its pretty good. but, on the other hand, they are a little overweight, and that may be why.

The ingredients aren't quality ingredients. There are far better foods out there that provide much better nutrition. Too much corn and crap in Purina.

yes Purina dog food is harmful for your dog i usto feed my staffordshire bull terrier and terrier mix Purina dog food but i dont know more! because they put euthanized dogs and cats in their dog and cat food. if i were you i would change it to maybe innova, California natural, etc. all comerical dog foods like iams, pedigree,Purina, eukanuba, etc. they are bad for your dogs. they put euthanized dogs and cats in their food!!!!! i know its so sad!!!!! when i found out i switched right away though non comerical foods are more expensive but its only because they dont put corn in their food its all GOOD and its full with protein. Purina and the others put corn in their dog food as a filler so its not full. even though the dog food is expensive its better than his life getting cut short and i am ready to pay more money for my dog if he gets to live a longer life!!!! but it may seem more money well you do pay more money but its kinda the same because your dogs going to eat less because your dogs actually going to get full because it doesn't have fillers like Purina and all the others.!!!!! also they put bha and bht that may KILL your dog!!!
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!! =]
