Long story short, I'm 24 and my ex is 30. We were together for 3 years and he has full custody of his kids. We have different priorities in our lives and broke up because of them. We still talk, love each other (on a different level then before), want the best for each other and are friends still. We both know that eventually we would date other people but he hasn't and I have started to. How/should I tell him or should I let it go until he brings it up?

Apparently your ex was married before and has 3 kids. He has to spend time with them until they are old enough to be alone. It looks like you didn't feel you were getting full attention, because of the kids. Well, when a man and a woman meet and like each other and want to be with each other, you have to accept what goes on in their lives or what went on in their lives. Unless there is a hidden skeleton, like being involved in a past crime, jail time or a b.s. artist.

Quietly. After a pause in conversation on other subjects.

I.e., showing respect for the likely fact that this will be hurtful to him. Yet otherwise being as matter of fact as you can.
