I really want to go surfing over spring break but my parents think the water will be too cold and the waves not good enough. If you could tell me where some places are (including the states) that you can surf at and is warm in the water during the early spring I'd appreciate it! Also I am a begginner surfer. If you know specific beaches that offer lessons that would also be helpful! Thanks!

We've been getting somce decent swells off New Jersey's southern shore lately and the water temps are in the high 40s so it's not too cold although you would want to wear a wetsuit to prevent hyprothermia.

Lessons are available through one of the guys who works at Faria's in Beach Haven on Long Beach Island.

I live in the Charleston, SC area and surf pretty much all fall/winter/spring long. The water temps right now are around 70 and all I need is a spring suit. When it is colder, I use a 3/2 full suit and in very rare occasions will wear booties. The best break around here is called "The Washout" at Folly Beach but there are a lot of other places that are good. You can get lessons around here and the surf stays pretty consistent all year. The waves are supposed to be pretty solid this weekend.

Other where I am, good breaks in SC are Surfside, Pawleys Island, and Isle of Palms. In North Carolina, there are a bunch of places around Wilmington and the Outer Banks. My favorite up there is Wrightsville Beach. I have never surfed Florida.

In jacksonville Florida the water temp is only around 65degrees right now. The waves have been from 3 to 6 feet lately but that changes with the wind direction weekly sometimes daily. I'm not sure how much warmer the water is farther south, but I think you will need a wet suit regardless, a short leg and sleeve should be good enough.

in case you may quit by ability of a save and locate a blouse with a hood connected, you'd be loving it. they make those 1m/m rash shirts that suit you tight with a common 3m/m hood connected. you'll not have self assurance how a lot hotter which will save you. any water that could want to leak in by your zipper, should not be able to the contact your bare epidermis. i have were given one made by ability of Rip Curl and it may be the finest surfing accent i own, particularly for the iciness. i likely paid $60 for it. they even make little 1m/m shorts to save you hotter down there, they resemble motorcycle shorts. yet i guess you would possibly want to easily positioned on a bikini bottom if that's more beneficial useful for you. the guy above replaced into correct, the a lot less you position on below the fit, the more beneficial useful. until eventually that's that blouse i'm speaking about. if that's truly chilly out and also you attempt to get your fit on right away, you may positioned a plastic grocery bag over your foot and slide the fit on over it, until eventually you get it on. it may ward off a minute or 2, which helps depending how chilly the air is. also possibly replenish some gallon jugs with warm water for once you come out to rinse off with. rap a towel round them or attempt to set them in the sunny spot on your automobile if plausible. have exciting, that water's gonna be chilly.
