OK, so I would reallyreallreally love to go to the Hellogoodbye, The Hush Sound and Boys Like Girls show at Avalon in Boston this upcoming may. I've been waiting to see them all for an extremely long time. You have no idea. Its just that my dad is super paranoid about me getting hurt or something.
I want to go to this show before they all make it SUPER big. So, has anyone ever been to any of these band's shows? Want to tell me what its like? Just so I can have some more things to try and prove to my dad that 14 is old enough to go see a show without a parent there!

You need an adult with you at fourteen. I am on your dad's side with this. He sounds like a good parent to me.

I went with my dad at the rolling stones concert it was my first time that my dad and I went to a concert together and the real thing is that I would prefer went to a lot of concerts with him by now because I was living with my grandparents almost all of my life and I missed a lot of things with my parents but more of that things that i missed was with my dad you know he's almos 55 and he's my best friend I know you're young and maybe some people call me a loser but I really enjoy leaving with my parents (of course not always but from time to time it is great) because there's only one life and only a pair of parents that we havee. so it's great that your dad wants to expend time with you... what would you do if that was the last time he could go with you anywhere? enjoy your dad and your mom as long as you can and enjoy the music also... Hope you the best, and yes when you get older you should go alone at a concert but the memories with your parents (mom or dad or both) are priceless and if sometime you hav a son or daughter of your own you'll understand!
stay Cool Have Fun and Live to love and love to live!

Well, for a starter, 14 isn't old enough. I don't know anything about this band, but I know you'd be in a huge crowd of people, not all of whom are responsible or nice. Maybe you could tell your dad how wonderful this group is and invite him to come with you? Maybe he and a friend could hang out and talk there while you guys are enjoying the band?

Prove you are mature and responsible. Go with a large group of friends. Create a curfew and have a phone on you at all times. Do not beg, it will just bother him and make him angry. Be mature about it, ask him when you have a serious idea of why you think you are responsible enough to go without a parent.

BTW, I'm 15 and I've been to about 4 shows without a parent. My first show by myself was when I was 14, and I was so proud to be able to go without a guardian.

Sorry, 14 yrs old, is NOT old enough to go to a concert with out a parent or responsible adult. Have you tried to ask an older, and responsible family member to go with you, someone your parents can trust, but that you wouldn't mind going with you? For example an older sibling or cousin? Just a thought.

I wouldn't be comfortable letting my 14 yr old (if I had one) go to a concert without adult supervision...sorry. Parents were young once too, they know what goes on at live shows and concerts.

Be glad your dad cares enough about you to not allow you to do some things on your own yet...it's not a bad thing, even though it may frustrate you.

I am fourteen and have been to three shows . i only saw hellogoodbye once it wasnt nearly as crazy as the other bands i have seem [i went to edgefest, im in arizona]
normally, Alot of jumping, screaming, and ALOT of pushing, dont go alone, bring friends with you at least, it gets crazier the closer to the stage you are, but if your in the nose bleed section then it isnt nearly as fun, so go as close as possible, and expect to go home with bruises! =D

Nope, if your only 14, then your dad is right. You are to young to go to a show without an adult.

This works every time! You will need a pillow and a chair. First, this is what you say to him. Repeat after me...So yesterday I was chatting with my BFF and she was all like well u shud lose some weight and I was like OH UR SUCH A LOSER and she was like well ur fat and I was like I HOPE YOU GET EATEN BY A SEA CUCUMBER and she was like ugh go fall into a box of plumbs and I was like ugh make sure you take the garbage out before the SEA CUCUMBER EATS YOU! Then, she fell on the floor. PEACE! When u r done saying that, you show him the pillow and he will sit in the chair. He will be mezmorized and you will all be happy! bye luvy duvy
