Do you drink a lot of water? If not, start drinking at least 8 to 10 glasses a day. You may be holding a lot of fluid in the tummy area. The extra water will help get rid of bloatedness. It has always worked for me.

Regular exercise<
Drink plenty of water<
Do sit-ups and crunches<<
Eat right<
Don't worry though...most women have a little bit of a belly there. It's a normal thing and it is really hard to get rid of...I have it too and almost everyone I know has it.

"I am carrying a small village in my belly. It is grotesque! I have no hips and no rear end but an enormous belly!"
But the concern over a "flabby belly" is more serious than simply not looking good in a bathing suit. Researchers are finding that abdominal fat leads to higher risks of heart disease, diabetes and even certain types of cancers.
We're all aware that lack of exercise and a diet of burgers and fries will cause our bellies to expand, but who knew that those late nights at the office, the stress of that big project or the hidden trans fats in our favorite vending machine snacks were adding dangerous inches to our midsections?
In a society where workaholics reign, Americans are more sleep-deprived, stress-ridden and crunched for time than ever before. We want the quickest solutions, the fastest foods (usually supersized), and, despite the caffeine running through our veins, we just can’t seem to find the time to work out.
Are our waistlines growing out of our control?
Three ways to blast the belly fat:
1 Avoid Trans Fats
2 Get More Sleep
3 Manage Your Stress

Lots of interesting suggestions so far, but the basic question is whether your tummy is due to poor abdominal muscle tone, posture, or a layer of fat. Strong abdominal muscles are a good thing because they stabilize your torso and protect your back. A physical therapist or athletic trainer can help you assess your own muscle strength. Sit-up and crunches, those old stand-bys, are not the most effective way to strengthen your core muscles and can make low back pain worse. Try yoga or Pilates instead -- much more fun!
Assuming your tummy is not due to poor muscle tone, you may be looking at what is a natural shape for your body. Women are supposed to have curves; for most of human history, a modest amount of belly fat betokened good health and ease in child bearing. If you try to lose the fat that nature and genetics intended you to have, you could drop your overall percent body fat to an unhealthy level. Instead, learning to love your body as it is, to value its strength and shape, might in the long run prove not only healthier but more successful. Good luck!

I agree with Pilates because it can really shape your body! Dancing keeps my stomache tight! I club a lot and dance a lot as well to keep myself in shape. A few of my old basketball teammates are skinny and fit but they have that extra belly fat. I think they just have beer bellies because they do drink a lot. Be careful with the sit ups and scruches because if you do them improperly you can injure your neck and back!

I have belly fat and it kept growing over a couple of years and then I was fat all over. I went to the doctor and got my blood tested. My hormones were out of whack and I was diagnosed with PCOS (poly cystic ovarian disease).
Belly fat is the big sign of PCOS. Do you have mood swings and irregular periods? How about acne??
Every woman should get thier hormones checked. And if your Doc thinks your lame for asking go somewhere else.

-attempt crunches on a daily basis, targets upper abs
-targeting the lower abdominal area is critical and a crucial part of overall toning the abdominal muscles
-lay on floor face-up, body should be parallel with ceiling, arms at sides, legs together...place hands (palms down) under butt, slowly lift legs to point of ease, and lower (slowly) repeat
-be sure you are breathing correctly; exhale when contracting the muscle(s) and inhale when releasing

crunches and sit ups build muscle. if you're skinny everywhere else it could be your posture. otherwise its just a matter of exercising and eating healthy.
