It just happened to me!!! It was a drag cause there were about 40 attachments. I use Acrobat Pro 6. Instead of rescanning everything on a different computer, I simply went into my list of printers, and "Adobe PDF" is one of the printer options. I turned this icon into my default printer. I then selected "Print" on each one of my attachments and effectively re-saved each and every one of the attachments doing this in a different folder. The drawback was that each attachment increased in size by about a factor of 3, but this did not seem to cause a problem. The recipient told me he did not have any trouble opening these new attachments. Sorry, I dont have an answer yet to my (our) problem. I was going to re-install Acrobat or upgrade or something. Very frustrating, wasn't it?

I am sure the PC on which the file is being opened does not have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on it. It is free & can be downloaded. But I am amused how you made a file with pdf as extension? Did you scanned them and saved them through Abby Fine Reader or Omni Page etc. If you have simply changed the extension, than I am afraid you will have to send it again.

Universal... You can say that. however, not all computers people buy comes with Adobe Reader. So ask Mr. Carlos to download Adobe Reader to be able to read the pdf files you sent him.

It's impossible to print a PDF (or any file for that matter) with out opening it first. How is the printer going to know what it has to print if it doesn't open the file.

it sounds like their version of adobe reader is either too old to read this pdf file(thats what the adobe reader does)or it is currupted and needs to be updated // or reinstalled

He needs to have a program called adobe reader, this will enable a person to read all pdf documents.

he/she can download it here

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

Also make sure when your saving that it is in .pdf as your doc type or people will have problems opening them up.

Perhaps they have a dated version of Acrobat reader. Find out what version they are using, trying, to open the files you sent; then re-save your files in the version they have and resend.
