You poor thing! You should be allowed to go to Friday activities! Maybe your parents and you can agree to a certain amount you can eat, being over weight isn't a reason to leave you out on something you love. My grand daughter's over weight and we are working with her. She just really needs family support! You need your families support also. Please know that your weight isn't what makes you a lovable person. Please take time to sit and talk to your parents about how you feel. You're a very special person! What a wonderful thing that you have a youth group! Please talk to someone there too if it will make you feel better! God Bless:)

I think it is wonderful that you are in a group that joins together to praise God. You should explain to your parents that you could be out getting into trouble, but instead you choose to be a responsible person. The fact that you are being held away from this because of your weight is ridiculous. There are ways to manage the food part of this without avoiding the service altogether. Eat before you go, take a light snack for during.

Talk to your parents about what options you can work together to come to, because this is an important part of your life.

Now about the "I really want to lose weight" part. God loves you for who you are, don't worry about the weight. Eat healthy, stay active, and the weight will take care of itself.

It all sounds pretty messed up.

Are they just punishing you for being fat, or is it for more specific behavior? And if it's for more specific behavior, have you considered obeying?
