Christian is as Christian does, and a true Christian follows Christ, not a book full of cultural bias (did you know that, according to the Bible, slavery is "approved" by God?). If you are a Christian (and not simply a follower of Christianity), then your true example in life should be Jesus Christ, who, among other things, shared a meal with criminals, saved a prostitute from being lapidated, and even died among thieves, just to mention a few things, simply because he never discriminated anyone at all. His love and compassion seem to have no end, and anyone, by the simple fact of being a creature of God, deserves it, no matter how "moral" or "inmoral" they are in regards to the costums of ancient Israel.

Hallelujiah! I think somebody's finally got the idea.
There is nothing in the Bible, the creeds, or the traditions of the Church that says you have to hate gays and oppose abortion to be a Christian. In fact, I would question whether anyone who hates gays could actually *possibly* be a Christian.

You may be a "Christian" and not be against any people. The thing that determines your "Christianity" is your belief in Jesus of Nazareth as savior and God as the one who raised Jesus from the dead. That is what Jesus taught his disciples anyway.
It also happens to be my belief as well.

I'm christian and I'm not against gays.. sure I don't believe in what they do, but they are human just like I am and I need to love everybody, but you're not against abortion? That's murder, even if the person raped you and you were pregnat, that's just wrong, I'm sorry.

Are you Baptized? That makes you a Christian. God does it - it's nothing you can do on your own. We cannot earn it - even by our so-called "faith" - even that is a gift from God.

once you're saved you're Christian.
and again, you're not supposed to hate gays, just the sin they commit. So really you don't see them as filthy, you see them as any other sinner; in need of salvation and/or repentance.
what you think on abortion, I can't decide for you or tell you what the right opinion is. I suggest you ask God yourself.
