No. People of any age have questions regarding religion, spirituality, and anything else you can think of. It wouldn't be fair to say that if you are under the age of 14 you shouldn't be here because you are not educated enough to ask an intelligent question. Maybe that person has a legitimate question they would like answered. It wouldn't be fair to discriminate.

It would be nice, but not practical. There are a lot of young teenagers and preteens on here, who don't bother searching to see if the question has been asked a million times before, or don't post answers very relevant to the question. But that happens everywhere. I just hate it when I end up in an argument with someone and it turns out they are 11. They really aren't capable of defending themselves at that age past 'well, that's what my parents/teacher/priest said'. Plus, you end up feeling like a bully just for correcting them in an obviously wrong statement, and kids can take things a lot more personally. I'm 26.

I'm going for 16+ or 18+. While we can't shelter our children forever, children's minds are very impressionable and why burden them with so much hate at a young age? Do you want your child to go and play outside or read racist comments on this site? People at the culture section are really harsh towards minorites, well the last time I was there.
I'm 20.

I'm 43, and I agree that this forum needs to be at least 16+.
When I first came here in July it was still pretty calm, and I actually allowed my kids to use this site on slower nights. Not anymore. They're banned from every aspect of Yahoo! Answers.
While it's the responsibility of the parents to monitor what their children do while on the internet, it's also the responsibility of everyone here to keep things respectful.

Well, I do think parents should be involved with what kids are reading, writing and watching but I also feel responsible for looking at a profile if I suspect the questioner is young.
At any rate: early 30's

Online age requirements are WAY too easy to fake. Except where required for legal purposes, they really might as well not be there.

I'd prefer someone mature enough to answer questions without answering like a troll, but then some people at 50 are still trolls!!
I'm 44 by the way.

100% agree.
you can't by tobacco till 18
you can't be an adult till 18
you can't join the army till 18
you can't get legally married till 18
I'll be nice, I'll allow 16. But to me, anyone below 16 should be removed from the web, they have no purpose being here. It would be like letting a 15 yr old stand inside a porno shop, no different.
