I went to get a hair cut not too long ago. I had very straight hair that was even. I asked for her to add some layers. looked good when wet, but when blow dried it at home, it looked awful. I tried some creams, but they made my hair feel greasy and sticky. any idea on what i can do? thanks in advacne.

try velcro rollers.....
also try bumble & bumble styling wax...
the haircutter layered you hair all wrong...
the layers should have been very subtle...to add movement and body to your hair.
i don't know where you live..but try to find who the top salon in your area is...and they might be able to correct it..although..you might want to grow your hair out a bit before it's re- cut.
you can curl it,..or wear it up swept..while you are waiting for it to grow a little bit...
hair grows fast..don't worry.
i wouldn't go back to the salon who cut it wrong.

Go back, ask for her by name, and tell her nicely that you aren't sure how to work with your new cut. Ask her if she can show you what to do. It may take a little time getting used to a new style particularly new layers, but it can be done. Everyone's hair is different. For me, I can't use any of those waxes, pomades, or gels because they all go flat or funky in a few minutes to hours later. I have heavy hair, and it just weighs it down. I use a volumizer if 'anything' and a little light aerosol spray afterwards if I really want hold. Most of the time, I need nothing. But, rarely does that work for other people. You will have to try and see what works for you. and the stylist can help you with that.

This sounds exactly like me. I had long straight one lengh hair went and go it cut into long layers, everyone loves when I take my 2 inch curling iron and barely curl the tips it gives me bounce & shine, and it looks good allday even when windblown. My friends hair is in the same cut but she added small highlights it really defines her layers. Try it I believe you will love it. It only takes a few minutes. Also when you want to go out you can curl it with the iron to the roots or hot rollers to add difinition. I have used a straighten iron on the tips for a shiny straight look, you will love that too. Wish you the best. experiment with it to find what you like.

Give it a wet look....get some gel that it not sticky....flip u'r head upside down and make sure to distribute the gel evenly from root to tip (dont use more then a dime size amt at a time).....when finished keep u'r head upsidedown and blowdry while scrunching u'r ends all the way up to the scalp..this should give u'r layers some life....(keep in mind when u flip u'r head back up it will be VERY poofy so you will need to tame it with a little hairspray or a small amt of conditioner spray).....good luck

What you need to do is go back to the stylist and see if he/she could take the time to show you products and show you tools to style it. This may cost something. Next time see if the stylist is cutting your ends blunt or if they giving an uneven edge. Usually my customers with very straight hair love when I give texture to their cut. Take a picture with you with hair that looks very similar to your own. Make sure it's a style you think you'll really enjoy. Take time to talk to the stylist about problems you have, products you use, and how easy or hard the style is to achieve.

well try a product called smooth and shine when you are blow dry your hair. It is not to greasy, but it may help you smooth the hair and then use a curl iron to show the layers and maybe you will like it more. I hope this help.

I have tons of layers in my hair! haha so I know what you talking about, did you try straightning it after blow drying it?
Or try scrunching it with gel? mine looks better cruly, also what about cruling it with an curling iron or even just flipping under the ends?
If your going to wear it straight instead of putting creams in your hair try designline shine solution. Its like syrupy, haha and you just put a pee sized amount in your hair and it makes it shine and keeps away frizz!

Hope this help! ♥

There are a lot of products that can tame your hair without making it look greasy. I suggest that you look into two products specifically, Kerastase Oleo-Relax and Chi Silk Infusim. If you try one of these, you would not have bad hair days for the rest of your life-

layers usually look good on people with straight hair...so as long as your hair is straight it should look fine! If ur hair isn't..simply try straightening it!
