I want to grow muscle mass, or at least maintain some of it. Is it ok to take those little generic ensure cans, one after every workout, (3 times a week at gym=12 times a month).......

Is that better than a protein shake? They taste like crap and require too much milk.

I am a Nutrition Counselor what I usualy suggest for my clients when they are trying to gain muscle mass and protien is to eat hard boiled eggs, chicken, peanuts things that are high in protien if they dont like the drinks...also try having protien in every main meal 3 times a day and for 2 snacks have some protien in that...for recovery there are various drinks that work...I use a juice like Naked juice that has one that is called green machine while it doesnt look that great from the bottle it realy isnt bad and it helps remove toxins from the body wich will help you feel alittle more rejuvinated
oh and as far as drinks go to your nearest GNC or health store they will have something called whey protien wich has a higher level than ensure..ensure drinks purpose is for a meal replacement not for workout..they have poutered blends that taste ok compared to ensure that you can blend in fruit or have flavors..and there are also something called Muscle Milk wich is a protien shake that tastes actualy pretty good too..it can be lightened up as far as the strength of flavor with milk if you want to..the chocolate one is to be avoided..the vannila was good..and the bannana is good
