I think the word you are looking for is RESPECT.. the ex still respects you enough to not let others disrespect you

It just means that the other person knows that you're genuinely a good person, and they can recognize that in you even if you broke up... Good or bad terms. I sometimes defend my ex's, and other times don't. I defend the parts of them that I know are good, and I don't defend the parts I know are bad. Hopefully it means that the person defending their ex has good character and is able to see the best in the other person.

It doesn't meant that they still love you or that they want to get back together.

It means that your ex is a decent and mature person. They still respect you and care about you in a kind and thoughtful way, but not necessarily in a romantic way.

Well they still care about you it doesnt mean they love you, they probably just still think ur nice, i mean u didnt do anything to them!

I wouldn't necessarily say that it means that they "love" you but it does show that they still care alot about you.

when i wipe down amy soccer trophy it doesn't mean i love soccer, but rather i want to take good care of the trophy. grow up.
