The way I saw when my dog loved me was when I woke up in the morning and she was just sitting there waiting for me. Also when I get home she runs to me and wags her tail. It might sound funny but look into his/her eyes and you can tell.

You can tell when a dog always wants to be with you: wagging tail, playful barking, licks your face, always happy to see you.
If a dog does not like you it will hesitate to go near you, also while approaching you the dogs tail will probably be between it's legs, and it head will be slightly towards the ground
Hope this helps!

If you treat it good, and feed it regularly and make sure its life is as comfortable as a dog's life can be, its pretty much guaranteed that they'll love you.
Hmm...dogs are so unique in that you can leave them home alone all day, and yet when you come back it will wag its tail and lick your face anyways.

That is one of the nicest questions I've seen in a very, very long time. I would say that when a dog goes to meet you and hangs around you as much as possible, and misses you (ie, whines or barks when you're gone) that means love. Or supreme affection. I believe they're capable of love.

When you get happy "i missed you" kisses when you've only been gone an hour.
When they follow you around, whining, just before they know it's time for bed.
When they reffuse to go to sleep without giving and receiving a goodnight kiss.
When they're quiet in their crate the whole time that you're gone, but start barking the second you've set foot in the house.

A dogs love is easy to see and just know--take a good--look at your dog--he/she will want to be where ever you are. They will love you with an -unconditional love--no matter what--even if you scold them. Ther're body language will also tell you--as they will wag their tail and rub against you, they will also try to lick--or clean you. They will protect you from impending harm.

You just know...my dog greets me at the door every evening when I get home from work. She sleeps next to me at night and loves to snuggle against me. She makes a funny little sound like she is trying to talk to me. When I look at her I see the love in her eyes. She is my friend and I know she loves me and I love her.

You know when they just like to be near you and don't want anything from you. When they look at you and put their paw on your lap. You know when they follow you everywhere, even the bathroom just to keep you company. You know when they check every room in the house just to make sure everything is ok.
You know when they walk beside you to go no where special but are willing to just be next to you when you get there.
You know when they are gone and your heart breaks into a million pieces.
That's how I know.

Well if they make a big fuss of you when you walk in the door thats a sure sign they love you. My dog goes mental when i go in the house jumping up and licking me to death he loves to get on your lap and just sleep and cuddle too. To me thats his way of showing affection towards me.
