I've been fighting it for a little less than a year now. I see a pediatrician, therepist, and nutritionist. For the past 4 days I've had a good spell, eating more than I have in months. However, I feel myself slowly slipping back into my old habits. Please help. I'm tired of being sick.

I've been dealing with anorexia for 2 and a half years now, so i know what your going through. But I haven't gotten professional help. My friends and family have slowly been helping me get better. But yeah lately I've been slipping into my old habits too.
But I'm slowly getting better.
I think the best thing to do is just hang out with your friends and family and they'll give you a lot of support.

Good Luck and Stay Strong.

poor dear...There is HOPE! And your seeking it. I'm proud of you. NOW you should tell your pediatrician and all those that are in place to give you professional help. Your right being sick is awful. Your health is better than anything else you can have in this world. If you don't have your health it's hard to enjoy much. Stick with the plan, get better. Don't "slip". You must stay aware now. Acknowledging was the first step. Good job. Now do the rest.

You need to stay in contact with your doctor and therapist since they are the best qualified to help you through your difficulty. Don't give up and realize you will have those times where you may stumble. Your statement that says "I'm tired of being sick" is a very positive sign. It signals to me that you are wanting to do something about the anorexia. Hang in there!!! Good luck!!!

It has recently come to light that anorexia may be a symptom of celiac disease.

You can be tested for celiac disease but it's not as accurate as it needs to be. That said, if it's positive then you know and that's great. However, if it's negative, you have to try the diet to see.

One of the bad things about treating anorexics is that people want to fatten them up as quickly as possible. What do they use to do it?... Bread... which is the exact food that is one of the largest contributors to nausea in celiacs and gluten sensitive people.

Please see loads of info. here: http://brain.hastypastry.net/forums/showthread.php?t=9723&highlight=anorexia

They are a very kind bunch of people there. Do not be afraid at all. Tell them Kim sent you. All topics are usually backed up by scientific information. If it's not, ask for it... someone will have it.

I'm thinking of you and saying many prayers that this diet will be as magical an answer for you as it was for my son.

Kindest regards,
Kim

Well, it's great that you're realizing the problem, and you are aware of it. Now all it takes is mental will power, and if you just can't eat, maybe go into an anorexia treatment center. Of course, continue seeing your pediatrician, therapist etc...
