Lately I have been noticing that even when people can see you are waiting for them to move, they take their time doing whatever it is they are doing.

I went to the drug store today and came out to my car, the guy in the carnext to me was at his passenger door, with the door open and saw me standing there waiting to get into my car, he was digging around for like 3 minutes while I was just standing there. WTF?

When you go to the grocery store and need to get by someone in the aisle and they see you but still atnd there with their cart right in the midde of the aisle parusing the shelf. WTF?

is it just me who makes sure I dont inconvenince people while doing my daily tasks?

No, a lot of people just don't bother, they often aren't even really aware of it. I generally say 'excuse me' when I want to pass; you knew you wanted to get into your car but the guy might've thought you were just standing there for whatever reason, or (quite likely) he didn't think at all because he was only thinking of whatever he was doing... people are self-centered, even when they're looking straight at you, sometimes the coin doesn't drop unless you ask to pass by.

I live in Missouri and I find that even though people here are generally nice, they are oblivious to the fact that there are other people out trying to get the same things done that they are!!! I may seem rude to some people when I say excuse me and they ignore me, so I just go on my way like they aren't even there. (especially in stores with shopping carts) I have noticed that I am always the one saying "excuse me" and others don't even notice that I was trying to be respectful. I am a young person with manners, but it doesn't seem to matter to anyone else, but I won't let other people's rudeness affect my ethics.

Do you live in the south? I never noticed people doing those things when I was living in Seattle. But the day I moved to Florida, People were in my way constantly and were in no hurry to clear me a path. People standing in a doorway having a conversation while I stand their waiting to get by is my favorite.

As for the man and takig his time as you were standing by, I would have gone back into the store for a bit. That sounds creepy as if he were thinking about doing something bad to you.

As for grocery shopping with cart blockers, I just say "Excuse me" politely and if they still don't move, I just push my way past. If they get angry I either ignore them or say, "Well I did ask you nicely first!"

They may well be looking right at you, but that's no guarantee they actually notice anything. It's amazing how oblivious some people are to the world around them.

Your not alone, I experice the same ignorant behaviour myself on a dailty basis. People today are just flat out ignorant, and rude. But nothing will change cause God forbid you point out their rudeness first of all but they are so full of themselves they'll never change. Next time it happens, just say excuse YOU... pardon YOU, and thank ME. I agree with one respondor, its a "demographic" thing with certain groups of people, and in certain locations. In a way its expected of them, but not tollerated.

I don't know. Were I live there is not very much of that. I do notice that behavior when I am in New Orleans or Southern California though.

I wonder why.

No, ma'am. I try not inconvenience people also. Besides, they went the store to buy something, not stand around and watch me all day. I feel your pain.
