God is not 'a dude' although people do habitually refer to God as a 'He' ... God is 'beyond gender' and 'outside of time and space' ... so you could just as easily say God is a 'girl' if you want and not be making a 'worse mistake' than calling him a 'male' or a 'dude.'

We cant fully understand God so we express God in terms we can understand. Men are the leaders in most cultures of the world, so God is express as a man. God truly has no gender. We all, male and female were made in Gods image.

Good question. If there were no females before the "creation" then why would God be male?
Why would he create man with a penis when there were no women with whom to use it (remember, Eve was created later)? And if He created man in his image, doesn't that mean that God has a penis? Why would God have a penis? Or facial hair?
Now, doesn't a literal interpretation of Biblical creation sound primative and seem quite silly?

i dont think God is a dude, people in the old days always thought he was because they were totally sexist to women and treated us like trash. they unfortuantley were the ones who wrote the bible so they decided to make everyone believe he was a guy but i personally believe that he is neither

Well, Adam was made first. He created Adam in the image of himself. Only after that did he create Eve, who was made in the image of Adam to the point where they could reproduce and Adam would be atracted to her.
We also might have thought of him in the image of a male because the only humanly love we can compare his to is the way a human father takes care of his children.

How could "God" be any gender? That would mean there is someone like you or me who can create this all... Obviously, no creature we know can do that. So, the gender-thing is even more ridulous than us thinking we have certain genders amongst humans.

God just "is" - We say "he" because the masculine has been historically easier. Also Jesus, obviously being a "he" and who is part of the trinity, makes it easier to assimilate the "He" in God.
