I got my lip pierced with a labret about 6 days ago and ive noticed over the past couple a days a white-yellowish liquid coming out of the piercing (not like pouring out but kinda oozing). is that normal? its bugging me because it dries into a crust and i want to clean it every time it happens which is about every hour. if it helps i went to the doctor and she gave me 875mg of augmentin to take twice a day in risk of getting infection

Funny - I know someone that has a piercing that got hit by a bus... must have been the piercing. What is with these retards?
DON'T USE PEROXIDE. It's bad - actually kills the cells that are trying to HEAL your piercing. Antibacterial soap and seasalt soaks (and listerine - very true, fine poster) are all fine. I might suggest using "glyoxide" as a rinse twice a day as well - you can get it from the drug store. The most important things to remember are to keep your hands away from it, clean it after each time you put anything in your mouth (drink, food, smoking, fingers... other) and keep makeup away from it.
The antibiotics will help - i might suggest a boost in your zinc intake - just take it more than 3 hours apart from your multivitamin (absorbs better).

I have actually had a similar experience. The puss is normal, as a foreign metal object is now in the lip. The crusting can be quite painful, trust me, I know. I recommend using Listerine. It cleans out the remnants of the puss. I have had quite a lot of success with this tactic. I have had a lot of piercings in my life, and I actually convinced my girlfriend to get her clit pierced. well that stuff that is coming out is pus and thats normal i guess when my brother got his done that came out to just wash it with germ x and salt water and should be getting better if not then tell me what is is going on with all that ok? bye best of luck to you
