we've been like this for 9 months everyone thinks that we are together but we're not ......it's nothing official we always say ok we won't talk to each other anymore and don't talk for weeks and then one of us will text message or call and start to see each other again. how can i get out of this situation i feel like this guy has a hold on me or I have a hold on him because we keep coming back in each other's life's. no rude comments please.

I'm in the same situation. If it feels right with him and his body language is showing that he wants to be closer, AND if you want the same things, perhaps you guys should go out. Maybe you both are just shy. Who cares what other think. Do what you want, between the both of you-but I do agree being in limbo for 9 months is long and hard...start thinking of what you want with the guy.

My daughter just lived through the same thing.. they were in a "sometimes" relationship- sometimes they were friends, sometimes a lot more. He ended it saying he could only be friends for now. Now he keeps asking if she still has feelings for him, and how he would hate for her to get involved with any other guy , that it would kill him... They obviously still have a hold on each other. Who knows, they may still get back together and have a real relationship later on... or not. Until you find someone else to occupy that vacant space ...you'll keep feeling this way.

I`ve been in something like you, 3 months ago, and well; if you have feelings for him and don`t want to get hurt talk to him straight, in my situation a I dated this guy for 7 months, my friends told me to tell him something, to know were we going, I didn`t wanted to get married or anything just to be his girlfriend, anyway, I never said anything and he didn`t, I ended up crying cause he left me for no good reason, it`ll be 4 months since I don`t see him and I still miss him like hell, I noticed later, that I was afraid to be rejected, but if I had told him, I had nothing to loose, I was going to see things clearer and I would have saved my tears, it`s all about comunication, try to talk things, if he rejects you, well you find your way then, and if he says I want you, you`re happy then, theres`nothing to loose!, just face your fears, GOOD LUCK!! ;D

In this caes, I'd ask him what is up. If he wants to be more, and tell him just what you told us. Tell him you don't like not knowing where this is headed. Hopefully, you will get some kind of response. Good luck.
