No. Religion, in my opinion, is a personal choice. I actually believe in God, or at least a version of one, but I personally can't stand organized religion. I believe that, if anything, there has to be some kind of higher power out there, so I could never become a straight atheist, at least at my current state of mind. Is this indicative of a weak mind/will, perhaps a desire to remain under the influence of the "opiate of the masses"? Perhaps. Perhaps not as well.
Your beliefs are your beliefs. They are subject to change, but they might not as well. They are ultimately up to you, your experiences, and your own reasoning.
I guess if there is a "true" religion out there, then it could be trouble for non-believers and believers of "wrong" religions... But there could be no such thing as an afterlife as well. Just go with what your heart tells you and don't let anyone make you think differently. If people judge you based on your personal religious beliefs, whether atheist or devout Christian/Jew/Muslim/etc, before they make the effort to find out who you really are, I would say they aren't worth the effort to understand and befriend.

well, think of it this way. If there is a God and you don't believe in him, then you're screwed. If you do believe in a God and there is a God, then thats good news for you. If you believe in God and there doesn't happen to be one, then you wasted some time but you hopefully did some good in this world. If you don't believe in god and there is no God, then you did exactly what you wanted to in life, and you spend the rest of eternity rotting somewhere.

its a He. and im afraid its not good. u should believe in Him. i know i cant make u but i suggest that u should. GOD IS OUR CREATOR. without him U WOULDNT BE HERE NOR NO1 ELSE... ok heres a fact that is supported by humans - women have one extra rib than men do. now ur saying why is this important...i'll tell u. in the book of genesis it says that a woman was created from the rib of a man. this explains that the Bible is correct. plz believe in GOD and u can email me if u have any questions concerning God. later :)

you miss out on having guilt removed if your'e a Christian. this makes the present life better. It also gives hope which is vital for happiness. No one can know 100 percent sure until they die. if God is not real you wont know it, but if He is real, then its bad. Make an intelligent decision.

No problem.

God, if there is One, is believed to have decreed that everyone have free will, the freedom to believe what he wants to believe and to live accordingly. We can believe in God or in religion or not and it will not be counted against us. Even Jesus, the Divine Master admits but clarifies, "Whoever rejects me and does not accept my teachings will, nevertheless, be judged according to the truths I have spoken." (JN12:48)

We just need to live right according to what our own conscience tells us.

My duty as a Christian isn't to see that you believe. That is between you and the Holy Spirit. You can listen to Him or Not. That isn't my duty I am commanded to tell you about life through faith in Christ.. He died to make you clean before a Holy God and therefore receive life. All He asks you to do it reach out and take the gift through faith..... Jim

Nope - nothing wrong with that.

I think that whatever energy it is that make grass grow and new hearts start is what God really is. I wonder if that means I believe in God or not myself, since I completely reject the notion of a sentient Creator.

Peace!
