I have this friend who is in eleventh grade. We are both rather quiet and shy. We IM eachother all of the time, but when we're at school it's like we're strangers. I never know what to say but, hi how are you? which is really lame. He's shy, but I want to talk to him... I am miserable at starting conversations though. Any easy solutions?

What you do is, say something that he IM'd last night was SO funny. Or something he did is so talented or something he said really provoked you to think about it.. blah blah blah. Ego stroking works for everyone, boys & girls.

Take note of his mannerisms. If you notice him reading a magazine, talk to him about what's on the cover. You've talked to him on IM. Have you found that you've got alot in common?
