Does anything positive come from taking a "break"? Do people actually get back together after the break. Have any of you guys and girls had breaks, and have any of you reconnected after them? Thanks.

me and my boyfriend took a tiny tiny break from each other, and we're still together. we took time apart, and we realized we missed and cared for each other too much so we got back together.i think if the 2 people are supposed to be together, then they'll reconnect. if not, then they won't get back together.

This is probably not what you want to hear, but "a break" usually means the other person wants out of the relationship and is letting you down easy. I've had a few "breaks" in various relationships... the breaks turn into 6, 8, 12 month hiatuses, that never reconnected... Before you know it, the person, along with yourself, gets emotionally unattached and things seem to taper off, from there.... IF by chance, this break is precisely that --- just a break, than GREAT! But, honestly, the writing is on the wall..... good luck.

My bf and I went on a break for a while during a rough patch in our relationship. We just needed some time to think things through. Eventually we decided to get back together and now, over a year later, things are still going great!

Yes people take breaks,,,,if they are feeling smothered by the other person,,or if they want to go out with other people. You need to know what the reason is though, We here cant tell you. We dont know the situation. But if you take a break from eachother and he doesnt come back then you know he wasnt the one for you. I wouldnt really worry about it. Just step back and see if he comes back to you.

I can't comment exactly, but I am a music teacher, and when a student's parent says "We're gonna take a break," that means that the kid will never be returning to music lessons again -- at least not until he's an adult, if even then.

I'd like to tell you from experience, but I have none.

My guess is it doesn't work. It's just a nice way of saying, "I don't ever want to be with you again."

My cousin just recently hooked up with her ex boyfriend again. It lasted about 3 months, and then she said, "I remember now why he's my ex."

So, the chances of actually getting back together and staying in love are slim to none, I would say.

No, if someone told me they wanted a break I'd tell them it's over. Not coming in and out of my life like a yo yo.

i defently do. it helps you miss the other person. Hopefully both of you are thinking of ways to improve the relationship. it can be a good thing. but Communication is the best way to make any relationship better.
