i have suffered years with acne and my doctor prescribed me clindamycin phosphate lotion...
it helped the first day i used it...it cleared out some bacteria...i guess...but after that...it doesn't do a thing...
i use it every day and night now, but it doesn't seem to do a thing! my acne is still here! and still red! and still gross!
what should i do?
i don't want a medication that is TOO strong because it scares me...the side effects and dangers...
my liver isn't that great so i don't want something that can really harm it...

If accutane is out of the question for you. Try another mild anti-biotic like Minocycline. Also, ask the dermotologist about Ziana- a new acne gel, it really works!!
I tried Clindomycin and it didnt do to much either. If you want to try an effective acne wash, try Panoxyl Bar 10%- it can be found at any drugstore. Make sure to moisturize well, with a non-comedegenic mositurizer, like Cetaphil.
Also, splash face with cool water, never wash face with hot water.
Hope this helped.

First off, a lotion used on your skin isn't likely to damage your liver unless it contains some pretty funky ingredients.

Second, you probably need both a different antibiotic, *and* an anti-inflammatory. Acne tends to involve both infection and inflammation which reinforce each other. As far as the antibiotic, you may want to look at something that's more effective against gram-positive aerobes such as Staphylococcus. For an anti-inflammatory, you might want to consider an antihistamine if the possible side effects of steroids are a concern.

Above all, though, I'd suggests consulting a dermatologist who has some expertise with this problem. Hope you find a solution; it sounds like you're having a frustrating time right now.

My Dr. prescribed me clindamycin phosphate pledgets. They are cotton pads individually wrapped and soaked in the solution. Maybe the lotion is still clogging your pores.

You could also try Cetaphil, you can find it anywhere. They make a cleanser and lotion. I used both and it helped although I still get the occasional pimple. I recently found Elemis which is rather expensive, but it works for me.

Whatever you do, I wouldn't recommend accutane. I'm a guy and I took it for about a year when I was 18, it made my hair thin out dramatically. It has more serious side effects on women.

I suggest you try DRS Pimple Clear Serum
as for your liver problem you try Phoscol 565 as this supplement will maintain liver health through the proper removal of toxins from your body (US patent number: 5284835)
