Toyotas and Hondas are alot more dependable than a VW, especially after 60,000 miles or so. Consumer Reports tracks cars and there automotive issue does track reliability on most years and models. It is a very good comparison and holds true.
I work for an Extended Warranty Company and see alot more VW claims than Honda or Toyota.

The best source IMO is experience. I had a VW Jetta for 7 years, which was about 5 years too long. I had to replace the engine, radiator, transmission, oil pan, and window gears. It was a lemon! I have also had 4 other friends with similar VW woes. I am now the proud owner of a Honda and the only money that goes into it is for gas and oil changes. I love it! Stay away from VW, if you can.

certain. Hondas are strong, yet no longer as strong as they could have you ever believe. The 20 3 hundred and sixty 5 days old volkswagens I see using round are in additional advantageous powerful structure than the 20 3 hundred and sixty 5 days old hondas, and that i see more advantageous of them in spite of fewer sales. I had a ninety 5 golf and all i mandatory to do replaced into the common stuff, no unsceduled upkeep (certainly, I enable some issues flow longer than they must have yet no concerns). when I bought it with 220,000 km, it replaced into using more advantageous powerful than many new autos immediately.

The main problem is that nobody repairs them, so you end up wasting a lot of money in the dealer.
