My brother is a history buff, but not a Christian, He asked if the battle was in the Bible, and if the Xerses in the movie is the one who married Esther? Can you tell me where to find it in the bible?

No it's not in the bible, as it doesn't have anything to do with the Jewish people.

The battle of Thermopylae was between the Persian army and the Greeks.

But yes, the Xerxes is the same person.

The battle of Thermopyle is NOT found in the Bible, but the Xerxes is the same (as the one found in Esther).

The battle of Thermopyle took place between the Greeks and the Persians. Isreal was not involved in this battle, as they had already been conquered and shipped off (many of them) to Persia (modern Iran) into exile.

Interesting timeline, though. After getting his hiney soundly whipped by the Greeks, Xerxes came home mightely depressed. Go figure. As a way of cheering him up, his advisors reminded him that he had never replaced his Queen, Vashti, whom he had deposed in the first year of his reign (for her public disrespect). This, then is where historians say Xerxex "sought consolation in his harem", which corresponds to the "beauty pagent" mentioned in the Book of Esther. We all know who won THAT contest. Hadassah (Hebrew for "star", translated into the Persian "Esther"), more than caught the kings eye, she won his heart as well.

Thermopylae, is not in either of the Bibles. It is strictly a holding action between Greek Spartans and Persians. Both were Pagans, and there were no Hebrews involved. The Battle took place in 480BCE

They're the same Xerxes, but I don't believe Thermopylae was mentioned anywhere in the Bible. While it had a huge impact on the future of Europe, that war just wasn't very important for the Jews.

"Thermopyle" is not mentioned anywhere in the Bible.
The story of Esther is contained in the book of the Bible which bears her name, in the Old Testament.
Neither does the name "Xerses" appear in the Bible.

Esther was made Queen to Ahasuerus.

The Xerxes in this battle is the same one who married Esther, but I don't remember if the battle was mentioned.

No, because it doesn't effect the Jews, and the old testament pretty much focuses on them. It does mention one of Xerses predecesors. After Israel was taken over by the Babylonians, they were forced to relocate to Babylon. The Jews were allowed to leave Babylon when it was captured by the Persians a few decades before the battle.

If it would be anywhere it would have either been predicted in the Apocolyptic book of Daniel, difficult to understand without help, or in the book of Esther in Catholic Bibles I'm not sure if Protestant translations have this book.

Not the exact battle, but the numbers similar to that battle, yes. There was a time God delivered Israel in a battle where they only had 300 men against 10,000. Read Judges 6-7
