I have been told the same thing all of my life and I'm 33 years old. I feel that it's not because my parents aren't good people, they just lack a fundamental sense of openmindedness. It hurt for many years and then I had to think for myself. I do understand your question though. My answer: A very frightened father.

I asked this question when I went to Catholic school and the teacher told me, that babies and children who die before being baptized go to hell. That's why I'm not seriously into religion anymore - because as a kid - it's easy to impose crazy ideas into someone's head that can stick with them for life, such as stories from the bible and fairy tales. For example: how many pathetic women out there are only still single because they refuse to settle until they meet their "Prince Charming?" C'mon! Who really believes in "Prince Charming" in their 30's? People should be careful what they tell children so that they don't grow up to have serious problems when they are adults.

This statement by your parents is not from the word of God. If you really mess up? Wow. We have all fallen short of the grace of God, and that is why He gave us the Messiah, to give us the opportunity to choose to not remain seperated from Him. There is no sin that is unforgiveable. Jesus paid the price for us. All you have to do is accept the free gift. Believe only what can be backed up by the word of God, which is the Bible. God is fair. He does say go and sin no more! See? You know more than you thought ; God writes His word on the heart and in the mind of every human being. It is He, who instilled knowledge in us. God gives us chance after chance, our whole life.

Your view of God may be affected by your relationship with your earthly Father. Remember that some are no longer sons but illegetimate and therefore do not recieve an inheritance. They are cut off. God sometimes give up on people who refuse to be purified silver. They are reprobate silver. Nothing but the pure and the holy can be in the presence of God. It is not God's fault if people tread the blood of Jesus lightly and trod it under foot. In a love relationship, there are two involved. You cannot make the other person love you or be faithful to you. God hates spiritual adultery and forgives it over and over again. There comes a time when you can grind a fool with a mortar and pestle and every million pieces will still be foolishness. When a fool who hates to depart from iniquity loves his iniquity (spiritual idolatry) more than God, he cheats himself out of an awesome relationship with God. Thus, God understands the pain of those who have loved with all their might and met with abuse or unrequited love. Love that does not allow for freedom is not love at all therefore we can choose to love Him because He FIRST loved us while we were yet sinners and because He died for us or we can be stubborn, proud, unclean, unholy, and foolish and neglect to put on a wedding garment and neglect so great a salvation. God loves us enough to let us CHOOSE to reject Him and His love. To better understand the boundaries between God and man and ourselves with others, I suggest you read Boundaries; When to say yes, when to say no. A lack of love and faith in God is a lack of understanding His true nature. In this ignorance, He is merciful and patient in letting us figure out that He is there all the time and weeps when we weep. It is NOT HIS will that any should perish. Some wonderful earthly fathers never desired that their children would commit sins that put them in prison, would get drunk and die or kill someone while on drugs, etc. What can they do? People have to understand they either self-destruct and shut themselves off from recieving the love that is available to them and that is their wrong choices doing that, not the heavenly Father. Boundaries are for our own good and the Father wants what is best for us and has the best for those of us who choose to serve Him. If we do not, the results are exactly as He has warned us against. God is a just God. He never punishes the innocent. Stubbornness is as the sin of witchcraft. So, the problem is with our view of God, not with God's ability to love us and to change us completely and make us pure and suitable for a holy environment in which we will be in His presence eternally. Choose you this day whom you will serve.

While a Father's affection will want to stay a death penalty, a Judge's devotion to justice and fairness will demand a right sentance and judgement. God has more than one side.
As our Father, God has provided a way for us to escape being condemned to hell. He sent His son, Jesus Christ, to offer Himself as a sacrifice to pay the penalty for our sins. While this obviously isn't "FAIR" (the righteous one dying for something He didn't do), it is obviously "LOVE".
The gift of forgiveness can never be "earned" by human action. However, it can be SPURNED by human choice. Those who claim to have recieved the gift, should live like it!
I hope this answers your question.

There is not an everlasting Hell it is mistranslated from the word hades which means death. The non believers just get burned up read (Malichi 4) Malichi 4-3 says And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord. A good resource to read is http://www.thercg.org/books/ttah.html

You seem to misunderstand something here: Not every person on Earth is God's child. If you are truly a child of God He has sealed you till the day of redemption, and you will spend eternity in Heaven; otherwise, if you don't have a genuine relationship with God through Jesus Christ His son, you are not His child, and will be in the Hands of a Just God who has prepared a place of eternal tormet for unbelievers.

God never sends absolutely everyone to hell. this is the folk who chosen to bypass to hell. If we don't settle for Jesus as our very own Savior then we chosen to bypass there ourselves. because of the fact of this it rather is needed pray for persons and to stay our lives the way God needs us to, so as that others will see what we've and prefer it additionally. Sin is what motives lots problems throughout the time of the international. in case you do no longer chosen Him while you're alive you will no longer get a great gamble once you're lifeless. God is appropriate and holy. The Bible isn't twisted. God tells us how we ought to consistently stay. we ought to consistently make a option to stay with after God, or carry on with after devil. devil is right here to blind people. till people open their eyes. they're going to never be attentive to the certainty.

No, a good Father would not do that, and neither does God.
carefully read the following Scriptures and see if it seems like anyone goes to a fiery place of eternal torment...
John 3:16: "“For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life"
Destroyed, cut-off, death forever, but hell?
Psalm 37: 9-11, 29, & 38: "For evildoers themselves will be cut off, But those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth. 10 And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. 11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.
29 The righteous themselves will possess the earth,
And they will reside forever upon it.
38 But the transgressors themselves will certainly be annihilated together; The future of wicked people will indeed be cut off."
Seems like the punishment for disobedience to God would be death with no hope of living again...one would cease to exist.

I don't believe that God sends people to hell. From my experiences with God, he is a loving father who would take every opportunity to teach us how to do the right or moral thing not discard us forever. We are imperfect beings. We will sin. God knows that. I think that God is a lot more forgiving than the religious leaders would like us to think. After all, fear is a strong motivator and the church knows that. Therefore they support the idea of "Hell". It offers them a great deal of control.

my grandfather was a nasty nasty man all his life. he never taught his kids about the good things in life. he was a user and an abuser. but, when he was dying.........he saw hell......and it scared him. and barely able to speak he wanted to ask for forgiveness and to ask god to save him. he could barely lift a hand or speak, and he practically gurgled out the words trying to get a hold of my father's hands. god gave him the chance to change his mind to ask for forgiveness for all his wrongdoings and to be saved. god doesn't want anyone to die and go to hell. he doesn't expect us to be perfect, the bible says that god doesn't look on us with the eyes of man, and that is the truth. he knows we will fail, he knows we will sin, he just wants a heart that repents and moves on, trying to not sin. if we were all perfect then we wouldn't need god or the savior he sent for us.
we make our own choices and if we choose hell, then we choose hell.
