You know how you look down an aisle to see what items they carry? Most of the time, there is one person in the aisle and they look at me like " what are you looking at?" and look like they want to fight! I just want to see if this is the toothpaste aisle or soft drinks or whatever. What's with all the attitude? It's not your aisle!

Don't worry, they probably don't have anything against you. Here are a few possibilities:

Test your expression in the mirror. You never know... you might be making mean expressions without noticing it.

Or you just happened to have run into several mean people in a row.

Or you grew up believing the world was full of mean people, so you're seeing what you expect to see.

Try smiling at people, they usually reciprocate.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but I wonder if problem is either in the receiving or sending of that message. The very fact that you notice how they are looking at you makes me wonder if perhaps you're looking at the person more than the things along the aisle. Not that you're doing it intentionally; but to be honest, when I think about the times I have done this, though I might notice whether or not there was a person in the aisle, I could not have told you the first thing about the expression on their face (nor for that matter if they have a face at all, though I suspect they do).

So, I would recommend pretty much ignoring the people in the aisles. They're no more interested in looking at you - and perhaps much less - than you are interested in looking at them.

When I check the aisle to see what's in it, I don't even notice the expressions on people's faces. Really. I look for what I'm looking for and move on... or stop and get what I watned, if I see it. Whether people are happy, sad, or angry makes no impression on me, as faces are not what I'm looking at.

I give people dirty looks who feel the need to block the aisles. Ugh, move your cart and your body out of the way so other people can view and/or pass through.

well. people love privacy and are not as freindly as the 50's era. not all of us are like that though. maybe that person had CHEW and was hiding it, or some kind of embarassing medicine in there.....
if you are hogging the isle so noone else can go thru then expect a ditry look
