What are the symptoms of a blood clot?.My husband had shoulder replacement surgery and is worried about blood clots forming.How does he know if he could have one?Does the arm feel sore?Does it turn a different color?Etc...

sometimes the arm gets swollen when it's not expected, like swelling not at the surgical site. Sometimes the arm gets warm where it's swollen. Sometimes the person gets a traveling clot and that makes them short of breath and soetimes chest pain. If he has concerns, he certainly should call his doc. These could be life threatening, but sounds like you already know how serious they can be!!

I have heard if a blood clot gets big enough the vein will explode so the doctor has to fix it up
