Doing push ups on your knuckles will make them hard. Try doing them on a hard surace. That will even make them harder. It will take a little time getting used to but it will work. Also if you dont want to break your hand make sure your fist is tight when you punch and try and hit with the knuckles on your index and middle finger. Those are the 2 hardest knuckles. Another thing you can do to make your shins hard is bang away at them. I used to to that, shins were always black and blue. But when I hit someone with them it was bad news., mostly used for leg kicks. I used to make my knuckles and shins hard.

The blogbaba disagrees with Ed201, bare knuckle push ups won't do anything for the bone content of your hand or wrist, but they will strengthen the muscle and tendons in the hands and wrists. Also you will eventually develop callus's across the knuckles if you do enough push ups on your fists. Over all it is a good exercise that will improve the durability of your hands.

It will damage the joints and you will get arthritis. Try taping your hands like boxers do.
