You might try looking at font websites:
http://www.dafont.com/ is a good one - most fonts usually have the numbers listed with them. You can find something from the normal to the unusual.

Sweet idea, but being such a cynical person (I've been through 2 divorces) I wouldn't take that risk. There are no guarantees in life sadly! How about a picture of something that symbolises him, (for example, my husband is African, so I am thinking about getting an African Violet on me, even if the relationship goes wrong it is still a pretty picture that I wouldn't mind having on me) but remember tattoos are totally personal so if you want that then go ahead and get it.

Beside the normal "find something funky on a website"...If you go to a reputable artistic artist they should be able to come up with something completely your style. Just describe what you want and let them do the research in different resources. A friend of mine wanted a tattoo of the word "serenity" on her bicep but couldn't find the script she wanted. (And she REALLY looked, for over 2 years) Finally she went to a reputable artist and he suggested using her own penmanship. A year later it is still the most beautiful tat I've seen.

Celtic numbers are gorgeous & if done well, are just as pretty as they are functional...you'll also get lots of attention! The crew fro "The Lord of The Rings" all were tattooed w/ a Celtic # 9, for the number of men in the fellowship. I would call around to Tattoo artisits in your area; they may be able to dig up what you want & often they do the research for free, especially if it presents them w/ something new & interesting. Best of luck!

Geek that I am, I'd probably put the date in binary, octal (base 8) or hexadecimal (base 16) - probably after time 0 under *nix.
Spiral_Dancer: Sorry to correct you, but they had an Elvish "9" (I think Sindarin), not Celtic or Gaelic. Considering Prof. Tolkien's way with languages & how he constructed Elvish, though, your assertion isn't too far off.

If you go to a really great tattoo artist, they can draw up a couple ideas for you. Just call or stop by and tell them what you want and they can make some samples for you.
