It depends on your situation.If you are making monthly payments,and you bought it from a dealer,you might be able to ask for an extension,or a grace period.It also depends on how far you are behind in the payments.Some people will work with you if you show a legitmate effort,others will not.
It is a luck of the draw,just hope you get the right person to help with your situation.
