Degrees are higher than Diplomas. So employers will be more inpressed if you have a degree rather than a diploma

A degree course which offers the chance to get some work experience via a placment is the best option. I am doing a business degree now, and i have just started a work placement and i can apply everything i have learned at university to my job.

If the course u are looking at does not incorporate a work placement there is an opportunity to find your own work experience over the summer break of each year.

A degree is more time consuming than a diploma but the end results are generally better.

Talk to the students on each course, see how they find it.

Employers are much more interested in a candidate who displays paractical knowledge, confidence and field awareness.

While degrees are technically "higher" than diplomas, it is what you learn on the way that matters not the outcome. A higher level qualification like diploma or degree and a well written application form gets you a job interview but either qualification doesnt matter anymore once you step into the interview room.

Experience and confidence gets you the job. Youll get these things if you choose a practical course, the past students of any course can tell you how much chance theyve had to apply their learning outside of their college.

Good luck whatever way you go!

Higher National Diploma = can do the job
Batchelor's Degree = know how to do the job
Master's Degree = know why you should do the job
PhD = can prove an obscure part of the job is irrelevant

It's often possible to do an HND then transfer to University and finish the degree, that way you get the best of both worlds.

Def degree... as many electronic CVs cant cope with HNDs and their grading structure...

Most folk have no respect for them

And no letters after name or graduate status
