What is the common thread in these verses? What counsel Jesus mean when he asked his disciples to be 'undershepards'?

The common thread:

Jesus is instructing his followers to watch over the believers. He knew that after His time on Earth, His followers might be coerced into worshipping false prophets or losing their faith. All the verses you mentioned (with the exception of "DoCo"...could not find out what that is in reference to) use the words flock, shepherd, or sheep. These metaphors were used frequently by Jesus, to describe the relationship of the follower to God.
