Mid to late 20's is a better choice. Parenting is more than any of us at any age are truly prepared for in life. You just got your "freedom" so spend the next few years enjoying it to its fullest.
My daughter is 18 and pregnant & I am very proud of whom she is becoming and looking forward to being a grandma. Have to say, I do wish she had waited just a few more years.

I've been with the hubby since we were 15, got married at 19, and had our first kid at 22 and our second at 23.

We are the oldest pair of 25 year olds I know. And while I don't regret it by any means (I would NOT trade our life & babies for the world!) I do feel like we're missing out on living the young & carefree life sometimes :)

I think that the best age to have kids is actually the age YOU decide... because ultimately, you're the one that is going to have to be your child's parent. And nothing that anyone else has to say will ever matter so long as you love & care for your little one(s). So if you think you're ready, I say go for it! I just hope you know what you're in for :) It's changed our lives forever, for the better.

I had my first child at 35 and that was the perfect time for me, because by that time, I'd done a lot of traveling, had a lot of fun and was financially stable. When you're raising a child, you have to make a lot of sacrifices and if I had had to make them when I was in my 20's and watching my friends travel, date, start their careers, etc., I would have felt gypped. Waiting as long as I did, enabled me to put all of my energy into raising fantastic kids and being a great mother. We had our own house and didn't have to worry about finances. I was able to quit my job and be a stay-at-home mother and I had/have a lot of patience ... all of which I definitely would not have had in my 20's.

Its not about how old you are. Its about how much you feel you can be responsible for someone else's life for the next 18-20 years. If you can put your son or daughter before your life for the next 18-20 years, then you're ready.

You are still a child yourself at 19 years old. I had my one and only child when I was 23 and that was WAY TOO YOUNG.

You need to be in a committed, stable, loving relationship with a man before children should even slightly be considered.

I think that 25 or 26 is better. Why? Because you have more time to find the "right" person. You also get a chance to live a little before getting married. Plus you have time to mature yourself before being responsible for another life. I hope you like this answer.

When you can financially and emotionally support them. For some that is 18 for others they are not ready for that at age 35.
