WARNING: THE POST ABOVE ME ABOUT ALL THOSE MIRACLES OF THE BANANA IS MOSTLY FALSE. SNOPES.COM, A SITE THAT DEBUNKS URBAN LEGENDS, HAS ANALYZED A SIMILAR EMAIL AND PROVED IT TO BE FALSE.
Anyways
Bad idea..... All you'll be getting is sugar, starch, some fiber, and a limited group of vitamins. (Although you still might get constipated cuz bananas are really, really starchy). Your blood sugar level (or insulin level) might be elevated.... maybe even to a dangerous extent.
Although I guess the milk will give you a little bit of fat and protein and fat-soluble vitamins... but still, this diet is not complete at all, even if you take a multivitamin.
You NEED some fat and definately protein. I'm guessing you'll lose weight- but in addition to fat, you'll lose bone and muscle mass. Not the way to go.
However, if you check with a nutritionist or doctor, a crazy diet like this might work if done carefully. There was a study where a group of volunteers lived in a tent in a zoo and ate a diet of purely vegetables and fruit, and the second week they had portions of fish- and they actually came out healthier. But they had a specially planned diet, and there were doctors who checked on them and made sure everything was okay.
However, a fruits-only diet is not a good idea. I honestly think that this is a crack-pot idea, and the Wikipedia article on Fruitarianism used to include its dangers and criticisms, but they've been lost in a POV war sometime since the last time I've read it.

kitty,
All of that will happen. You will lose weight, you might lose energy (depending on how many bananas you eat each day), and probably lose your taste for bananas for a while, too.
Bananas are primarily a source of vitamins and carbohydrates, with a nutritional profile pretty similar to the potato or the apple.
They won't hurt you to eat them exclusively for five days, but given that they have almost no protein...
Why would you want to?
There's nothing in the banana that makes it any better a diet food than anything else, really.
If you ate what you list, you'll get about 1000-1200 calories per day. You can figure on almost 100 calories (not quite) per banana, depending on its ripeness and size.
You'll lose wieght, sure enough, but you'll lose energy, too, and toward the end of your five days probably start to feel a bit cold when nobody around you does. Low energy intake will do that.
It won't hurt, but it won't be much of a help, either. It's probably worth a try...once.

Obviously you would lose weight since they are low in calories, but then again, they have natural sugars in them and your body might suck that right up.
Why not just incoporate them into your diet. Try the two bananas in the morning but do something like a ham sandwich, carrot sticks, and an orange for lunch, and something reasonable for dinner.

Bananas are not really that nutritious, so are a bad choice for a single item diet.
You will definitely start getting nutritional deficiencies, so should take a multi-vitamin too.
The lack of fiber could cause some intestinal distress.
You need protein of some sort or your muscle will start to break down. So the milk helps.

You will probably lose weight and be fine. Nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat. Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic load. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin and healthy. Salt has no calories but makes you fat and burning more calories does not help this fatness.
Find out about fastest way to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad fats, water retention and secret trick used by models to flatten their tummy before an event. Reading a book will take you hours but the information on a post, taking minutes to read, is not enough. The webpage below has just enough to know what you need to know. Links page has gov. BMI calculator to find out just how much overweight you are (teens plug in your age to compare to others your age).
You can force your body to lose weight with not enough calories, but if you continue it, you will starve to death. With an abundance of healthy foods, you lose weight just as fast, but only until you reach your ideal weight. You can continue eating this way the rest of your life and always be at your ideal weight.

I wouldn't suggest it. Though I am not entirely sure, your body needs other nutrients that bananas cannot supply.

Before you knock Banana's
BANANAS
Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose - combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proved that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.
A banana can help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must for our daily diet.
Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND among people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.
PMS: Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.
Anemia: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.
Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it the perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.
Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.
Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.
Hangovers: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.
Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.
Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.
Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.
Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.
Overweight and at work: Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and crisps. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.
Ulcers: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.
Temperature control: Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand, for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer, tryptophan.
Smoking: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.
Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be re-balanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.
Strokes: According to research in "The New England Journal of Medicine", eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%"
Warts: Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!
A banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around.
A banana contains:
1 gram of protein
3 grams of dietary fiber,
467 mg Potassium
43 mg Magnesium
27 mg Phosphorus
7 mg Calcium
1.3 mg Selenium
.4 mg Iron
Also trace amounts of zinc, manganese and copper
95 IU Vitamin A
11 mg Vitamin C
22.5 mcg Folate (important during pregnancy)
.7mcg Vitamin B6
.6 mg Niacin
.31 mg Pantothenic Acid
.67 IU Vitamin E
Soooooo.......... "A banana a day keeps the doctor away!"
When on the go, carry your banana without bruising Bananasaver.com
