Dogs. You can do more with them. Its hard to take a cat on a walk or play fetch. I also think dogs are nicer to curl up with at the end of the day. Cats are cool but seem to be on a "I'll be your pet when I want to be" level.

They both have their good and bad points. Cats require much less maintenance. You don't have to get up in the middle of the night to let them out. But dogs I think are more affectionate. Where as cats are more aloof. They tend to let you know when they want to be bothered. Either way you have poop patrol so it really depends on which you prefer. I have both!

Dogs.
Both are companions... I just can't get over the litter box with cats. The thought of them standing around in their own excrement and then jumping on my bed or couches.. ew! Outdoor cats have the same habits and then they bring home presents.. argh.. I love dogs. They train better than cats; they are loyal and offer protection.

Depends on the person.
Cats are independent while dogs always want to be with you.
Cats have super short attention spans, dogs aren't smarter, just more willing to listen.
Cat burry their poop and dogs don't care where they take a dump or a wiz.
Cat pee smells way worse than dog pee.
Dog poop smells way worse than cat poop.

I really like dogs better, just because dogs demand less of you, and also are more loyal. Many cats run off and spend sometime with others that feed him/her, but dogs usually don't do this. Unless you are really treating them badly and not feeding them. :(

I would say dogs. Cats just go and come back when they are hungry or tired. Dogs you can play with and they cost less(if it is trained well)

i love cats because i grew up with them more than dogs....but i like dogs too...im hoping to get a pomeranian !!!
