im really wanting to get a pomeranian and i dont know a whole lot about them. and i was told by a breeder that males are sometimes nicer than females id that true? if u have any information about them PLEASE let me know about them !!!

I love the Males because I think they are prettier,it's like the difference between a Lion and aTiger.Also the Males are so loving and Loyal and the Females are Miss Independent,they will just go off on their on and lay down ,the males just want to be loved and cuddled all the time.They are both great but I just favor the little boys.Poms are fabulous animals and they are the oldest living recorded dog they can live to be 25 yrs old.Happy hunting!!!!!Go to the pet store and get a book and read up on them .Good luck!!!!

I have had both genders, they all were/are great dogs. I had 1 girl and 2 boys. I lost my one of my boys a couple of years ago and I lost my female last year, but all three have had great temperaments and have been great with my kids. The girl we got as a puppy and we raised her while I was pregnant w/ my first child, she would watch over him whenever he was out and about just like a little mother. The two boys we got when they were a little older, at separate times and they still were great and have been great with my kids. The one boy I still have is feisty at times, but that is when he wants to go with us somewhere and he will tug at our shoelaces. He is playful and will play catch with us. I think you should be happy with either one, it just depends on which you think you would rather have, are you going to be a breeder or anything like that?

I'm not a pom person but MANY breeds the males are a tad more of the goofy "I'm here for the beer." Females have this niggling instinct - "I may have pups to raise someday" so they have an agenda.....
