I just bought my HRM after Christmas and have really enjoyed it. However, I have often wondered about the accuracy of the calories burned. I can't really find any information on the web about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No, they are just an estimate. The actual calories burned will vary greatly even for 2 people of the same weight, depending upon their muscle mass and how often they exercise. So just use the calories and use them as a rule of thumb to compare one workout session to the next to see if you burned more or less calories. Use the heart rate monitor to keep your heart rate in the target zone as much as possible during your training session.
