I accidentally recorded over something on a VHS tape that I wanted to keep. Although it seems to be lost forever, is there any conceivable way to retrieve that which was taped over? Or is it impossible?

It's gone forever it happened to mei tried rewinding back deleting the thing i recorded but it didn't work. So i'm sorry about what you did i know i was upset when it happened to me i wish i could do somthing about what i did

Unfortunately now no it's prety much gone when VHS were the leading technology in viewing and recording then i remember that there was a way but there's a long shot of you finding someone who could know what to do.

none that I know of. I think you're screwed. Try transfering most of your old VHS tapes to DVD's. They last longer and once you burn it (assuming you didn't use a dvd-rw it can't be "recorded over".
