And why are "Jews for Jesus" cult members so aggressive and rude in trying to convert others?

They scared me when I walked through the airport last week. I told them I was jewish (big mistake to talk to them) and they wouldn't leave me alone...I had to call for security!

Because they will not rest until they have destroyed all of Judaism. You were right in calling security. I don't know why people join it...it is scary...but not necessarily a cult. One of the biggest threats to Judaism as we know it, in my opinion.

Much like any Evangelical religions, Messionic Jews CAN be overbearing and pushy. I dont know if i would call them a cult.... however I find that when people are overzealous about things, they are usually trying to re-affirm their own belief. also a lot off sects of heavy evangalistic religions believe that spreading the religion is essential to it.

As a jewish person.... I have a name for Jewish people that believe in Christ as the messiah.... its "Christian"

why would people join any cult or group?- to be part of something that feels bigger, to gain direction... and feel like you have a purpose if you dont have that already. The enusiasm is infectious and gives people a sense of hope.

The Merriam-Webster online dictionary lists different meanings of the word "cult"

1. Formal religious veneration
2. A system of religious beliefs and ritual; also: its body of adherents;
3. A system for the cure of disease based on dogma set forth by its promulgator;
4 Great devotion to a person, idea, object, movement, or work (as a film or book).

So that makes ALL religions cults.

Jews for Jesus is a Christian [1] evangelical organization based in San Francisco, California, whose goal is to convince Jews that Jesus is the Messiah and God. Viewing its followers as "living out their Jewishness," [2] Jews for Jesus defines "Jewish" in terms of parentage and as a birthright, regardless of religious belief.[3] Identification of Jews for Jesus as "Jewish" is overwhelmingly rejected by Jewish religious denominations,[4][5] secular groups[6][7] and the State of Israel[8] due to the Christian beliefs of its members. The group's proselytizing activities are opposed also by some Christian organizations and scholars.

Jew for Jesus group is not a cult.

They just believe the whole bible from Genesis to Revelations and had their eyes open to truth.

The people they tell the good news to and take heed are probably going to be part of the remnant of Israel that will be saved.

God had a purpose for Israel's rejection of Yeshua, it is so we Gentiles could be grafted in and partake of the promises. Remember God wants all to be saved.

But because of their rejection, this is what God told the prophets to tell them:

Through Moses to the Jews regarding Yeshua, it is written "I will provoke you to jealousy by those who are not a nation (Gentiles), I will move you to anger by a foolish nation."

Isaiah very boldly stated to the Jews regarding Yeshua "I was found by those (Gentiles) who did not seek Me; I was made manifest to those who did not ask for Me."

and to to Israel, Isaiah tells them :All day long I have stretched out My hands, to a disobedient and contrary people."

But God is merciful and has not forgotten Israel. Soon the Gentiles time will be up and responsibility for witnessing again will return to the Jews.

Jews for Jesus is not a cult - in fact, they have the best of both worlds, and there are very few of them.
Sorry you had a bad experience - they should respect your space but understand they have found something wonderful , that gives meaning to life, and they care about you.

So you say.

They are the ones that are being called.
A cult, I think not.
They are those who have left the old testament and came to the NEW.

I find it interesting people just say, it's a cult. I didn't know you were elected judge.
