Have you heard of the Miracle of the Sun? It happened in 1917 when Our Lady appeared to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal. This miracle was promised way in advance by Our Lady and actually happened on the day She had promised. This awesome miracle was witnessed by 70,000 people believers and non-believers (atheists included).

This miracle which defied the laws of nature was of God since only God controls nature and was to confirm the authenticity of Our Lady's message and the fact that She came with an important message from God.

Please don't tell me you actually believe the sun rises. It's an illusion caused by the rotation of the Earth. For the sun to rise in the west, the Earth would have to stop spinning then spin the other way, and we'd notice that.
But of course I would look for a scientific explanation first, it's only a miracle if it couldn't happen naturally. And even it could be established that the event had been supernatural, that wouldn't prove that your god did it.

Sun rising in the west means that the Earth is spinning in the opposite direction. Simple. No god required - just something really big hitting the Earth. You're going to have to come up with a better 'miracle'.

Ah, but we all witness miracles every day. The first breath of a child, the sun rising (even in the East), a sudden rainstorm that cools the air, the singing of birds in the early morning. What more in the way of proof does one need?

The latter.

And how is the sun rising in the wrong direction a miracle?

I would check that the compass was labeled correctly...

I will ALWAYS look for a rational explanation for everything. If the explanation points to god, I will believe in god, if it points to nature, well I will remain an atheist.

I have no attachment to atheism, I just need evidence to believe in god.

Got any?

I guess I would wonder whose God I am supposed to be amazed by. Since all religions boast miracles as proof, I'd have to wonder who would take credit for this one.

try to find an explanation. Even if there wasn't one, that doesn't mean what I saw was a miracle. It would only mean I didn't have an explanation.

For, from the very creation of the world, His invisible perfections--namely His eternal power and divine nature--have been rendered intelligible and clearly visible by His works, so that these me are without excuse. Romans 1:20

God does not take kindly to being ignored.
